Q What will my session be like?
A In a word, FUN! You might be a little nervous when you first arrive, but not for long! The friendly atmosphere at Sullivans will have you relaxed in no time. Of course, you'll feel more comfortable if you are listening to your favorite music, so be sure to bring some CD's.
Q Can I bring a guest to watch?
A Of course, but please keep guests to a minimum. Too many guests can be a distraction and can take away from and/or shorten your session. If it is necessary to bring small children they must be kept under constant supervision. Also, keep in mind that our outdoor photography area is on a sprawling 105 acres which requires the use of an ATV for traveling around to the different outside scenes. The ATV seats two people and our insurance does not allow for anyone to travel in the cargo area of the vehicle. If you have many guests, they will either have to wait inside during your outdoor session or walk a distance to the outside scenes on rough terrain. Time does not allow for us to make several trips back and forth transporting guests.
Q How long will it take?
A The time allowed for your senior session will depend on the type of session you choose to have. The tuxedo or drape session takes only about 10 minutes. The indoor or outdoor session takes about 45 minutes and the indoor/outdoor combination sitting could last up to 90 minutes. We try to allow you the personal time you deserve.
Q What if I like different poses than my parents?
A No problem! Each of your photographs will be different, so when you select your portraits you won't be limited to just one pose. With our new ordering system you may order from as many poses as you wish.
Q When will my portraits be ready?
A Fast! Your images will be ready to view on our Online Ordering System in approximately 2 working days or sooner!
Q Can I bring props?
A YES! Your props mean more to you than ours do, so it is a good idea to bring your own. Consider sports equipment and uniforms, musical instruments or other hobby-related equipment. Cars, trucks, motorcycles and other motor vehicles make great props. Also included in this category is pets. However, pets must have constant supervision and kept outside of the studio.
Q What if it's raining?
A Even though it may be raining where you are, it may not be raining here at the studio. Please come prepared to photograph your entire session. If necessary we will reschedule the outdoor portion of your session.
Q When do I pay?
A You pay for the session the day of your appointment. One half of your finished order is due when you place the order, the other half is due on completion. It is not necessary to know what you plan to order at the time of your appointment.
Q What if I don't have a computer?
A We have the facilities for you to view your images online here if you choose to do so. This should be done during regular studio hours and does not require an appointment. If you prefer to view tradional previews you may pre-order them at the time of your session.
Q Can I still purchase previews?
A Sure. Viewing your images online will still allow you to purchase any previews you want, eliminate unwanted poses, and save you money.
Q What about blemishes?
A No problem. You can order retouching. Don't cancel your appointment because of a small blemish.
Q But what if I have braces?
A Retouching can even remove braces in your portraits. There is an additional charge for this service, but it's better than waiting.
Q Can I get reorders?
A Yes. Your images will be kept on file for one year. It is typically more economical to order all at one time, but if the need arises for more wallets or one more 8X10, just let us know.
Q Is it difficult to get an appointment?
A Indoor/Outdoor appointments are limited so the earlier you call, the more likely you will be to get the type of appointment you want at the time you want it. Last year, by mid-July, there were no more Indoor/Outdoor appointments available until after school started. So call today!
Q Do I have to buy my portraits from my school photographer?
A This is one of the most frequently asked questions of upcoming Seniors. Your school photographer provides a service for your yearbook staff and your school. They are responsible for getting your yearbook photo to the annual staff in time for the yearbook deadline. It helps the yearbook staff and company to have all the yearbook photographs taken at the same place because of lighting, headroom and the tux and drapes being the same on all photographs. You can not be made to purchase photographs from any photography studio. It is important to have your yearbook photograph taken by your school photographer, but you should purchase your photographs from the school photographer only if that is what you choose to do. At Sullivans we understand the importance of taking care of yearbook photos. We are reponsible for several high school yearbook photos ourselves. You deserve the best for your senior portraits and if that isn't what you are getting from your yearbook photographer, you deserve a senior session at Sullivans.
Q What if Sullivans is my yearbook photographer?
A If we are your yearbook photographer you will need to have your tuxedo or drape photograph made here. We hope that you will want to use us for all of your senior portraits. Even if you don't, you will find us friendly and helpful to you.
